When the filter slurry contains extremely fine particles, a filter cake with dense fine pores is formed on the filter medium, or the pores of the filter medium are blocked, making filtration impossible. In addition, when the filter slurry contains viscous or gelatinous or highly compressible particles, the formed filter cake is very resistant to the filtrate. At this time, some kind of hard solid particles that can form loose filter residues can be added to the filter slurry, or the filter slurry can be used to make a paste and supplemented on the filter medium to form a loose filter cake. The filtrate can flow freely, and the solid particles are called filter aids. The role of China cellulose filtration aid is to reduce filtration resistance and improve filtration speed and clarity. China cellulose filtration aid should be chemically stable, insoluble, hard, and irregularly shaped fine particles, which can form a filter cake with loose structure and almost incompressibility.

 
How to use China cellulose filtration aid
     (1) Add the China cellulose filtration aid to the filter slurry, stir evenly and filter, so that the China cellulose filtration aid forms a porous and loose filter cake on the filter medium, and repeatedly filter to obtain a clear solution. This method is suitable for the filtration slurry with low solid content, especially containing viscous or gelatinous substances, and the dosage of China cellulose filtration aid is 0.1-0.5%.
     (2) The China cellulose filtration aid is made into a paste with an appropriate amount of filter slurry, added to the filter medium, suction filtered to form a 1-5mm thick China cellulose filtration aid deposition layer, and then the liquid medicine is filtered. This filtration method can prevent the pores of the filter medium from being blocked by fine particles or stickers, and a clear solution can be obtained in the early stage of filtration. The methods (1) and (2) can also be used in combination.

The effect of the dosage of China cellulose filtration aid on the filtration speed. With the increase of the amount of China cellulose filtration aid, the filtration rate increases, but exceeding the optimum amount often leads to a slower filtration rate and no improvement in clarity. Therefore, when using a booster, it is good to experiment to determine the appropriate amount.
